Getting there...
Exploring - Jeep from Magic
Thankfully, there is no airport on Skopelos, or any prospect of one being built...

Regular charters from various European cities fly to neighbouring Skiathos and regular ferries and hydrofoils (about 50 minutes) connect to Skopelos.

Alternatively, scheduled Olympic, BA, EasyJet and other carriers to Athens, then by scheduled Olympic domestic flight to Skiathos or Hellas Flying Dolphin bus/hydrofoil to Skopelos. Or to Thessaloniki by Olympic or BA

For details of ferry links, timetables, online booking etc visit Madro Travel based on the island.

Car hire is not essential, but for day trips and beaches there are plenty of buses and taxis to help you get around. Or you can hire cars, jeeps, mopeds or even boats in Skopelos town.

Regular ferries, and hydrofoils link with the neighbouring islands of Skiathos and Alonissos, and with Volos and the beautiful Pelion Peninsula for day trips or two-centre holidays.

Madro Travel offers a range of excursions to neighbouring islands, the National Marine Park of Alonnissos-Northern Sporades or the mainland. There are published country walks and trails to explore the island coast and countryside.

Crystal clear Aegean waters - Greece has the cleanest beaches in the EU, according to the annual report of the EU on the quality of swimming waters. Click for Skopelos beach guide
