The house at Faneromeni is designed for the intense Aegean sun. Built in 1991 and designed by Greek architect Stelios Papodakis, it stands on a small site surrounded by the lush gardens and large nineteenth century houses in a quiet area of Skopelos Town. It is the ideal romantic hideaway for individuals, couples or a small group of friends.

The first sight of the house is of its pure white sculptural facade with a repeated motif of prismatic shapes. Inside and out, the house is a playful mix of modern Greek forms - an ever changing interplay of dazzling whites, soft shade and geometric shapes - classic simplicity

The house is on three floors linked by a spiral staircase.
On the top floor of the house, supported on columns is a bedroom with an en-suite shower/wc in which even the sink and shower are moulded in blue and white to continue the sculptural theme of the exterior. The view extends from the blue shuttered windows over roof tops, gardens and Faneromeni Church to the Paluki Mountain beyond.

The spiral staircase leads down to the centrepiece of the house, the spacious, living room and kitchen/diner, this is the working heart of the house. With its high, chestnut-beamed ceiling, it is reminiscent of one of the many churches on the island. French doors, almost the width of the room, open onto a covered balcony and a breakfast terrace. From where, sweeping stairs lead to the walled courtyard below.
