The house is an exciting modern design by a well-known Greek architect. Blending discreetly with its older neighbours with its own private courtyard, the house at Faneromeni combines island architecture - cool white walls, Pelion slate and tiled roof - with distinctive modern sculptural lines.
Just outside the gate are authentic island rhythms; wake to the chimes of church bells, explore narrow streets full of small friendly shops and enjoy freshly baked bread every morning from traditional wood ovens.
The colourful waterfront and harbour, with its cafés, tavernas, stylish shops and banks is just a couple of minutes walk away.

Skopelos Town....
Skopelos old town, the Chora, is a maze of narrow cobbled streets, whitewashed churches and houses with slate or red-tile roofs, wooden balconies and cascading bougainvillaea. Clinging to the steep hillside between the harbour and the Venetian fortress, the Chora is largely inaccessible to vehicles. Protected by Presidential decree as a “Traditional Settlement of Outstanding Beauty”, Skopelos is officially recognised as one of the most beautiful towns in the Aegean.

....and the "Green and Blue" Island
The island offers a variety of beautiful beaches and secluded coves with crystal clear waters and caves. To the north of the island is one of Greece’s two official Marine Parks and the sea around Skopelos has been made a conservation area, Dolphins are a common sight, but the outlying islands are strictly protected as breeding grounds for the endangered monk seal.

Skopelos is the second island in the Sporades chain and the largest, 21 km long and 8 wide. It is one of the greenest islands in Greece, over half is covered in a lush dense forest of natural pine and other wild trees.
The combination of green forest and the deepest blues of Aegean sea and skies led to Skopelos being officially proclaimed the "Green and Blue” Island. Mountains, covered with dense forests sweep down to precipitous cliffs. Gentler slopes and valleys are filled with olive groves, plum or almond orchards, and vineyards. The plums are harvested and dried in traditional ovens to make prunes. Ancient chapels and monasteries dot the landscape.
During April and May the island is carpeted in wild flowers including freesias, orchids, poppies and irises
